The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Engineer Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has congratulated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her conferment as Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
The installation ceremony took place at the Palace Square, during the celebrations marking Oba Ogunwusi’s 10th coronation anniversary.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Media and Publicity Directorate, Oba Owoade described Senator Tinubu as “a woman of substance, characterized by inner strength, integrity, purpose and strong character, whose leadership values inspire millions.
The Paramount Ruler noted that the First Lady possesses resilience, confidence, empathy, and intelligence, and has consistently demonstrated commitment to national development through her initiatives and public service.
“She is an agent of change, a leader, and a reliable guide who adds value through her actions and ideas rather than just words,” the Alaafin stated.
According to him, integrity, honour, discipline, and self-belief are foundational to her personality, adding that she has remained a dependable figure who confronts challenges with courage and stands up for others.
“She understands and values people. She shows empathy and kindness, actively contributes to society, supports worthy causes, and seeks to make a positive difference,” he affirmed.
Oba Owoade highlighted that the First Lady is a trusted voice of reason, comfortable in her own identity, modest in conduct, and inspirational in leadership.
“She leads by example, creates value through her work and ideas, gives back to her community, and supports those less fortunate,” he said.
The Alaafin concluded by commending Senator Tinubu’s role in strengthening unity and social responsibility across Yorubaland and Nigeria.
“You are indeed a dependable figure who brings people together through understanding. Your life is defined by profound inner qualities and positive influence, not external validation,” Oba Owoade declared.
