Alaafin Felicitates Olubadan at 82, Celebrates His Wisdom and Service to Ibadanland

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has felicitated the Olubadan of Ibadanland on the occasion of his 82nd birthday anniversary, describing the milestone as a celebration of a life marked by wisdom, service, and commitment to the traditional institution.

In a goodwill message issued on Friday bu the palace media tean, the Alaafin described the Olubadan as a distinguished Royal Father, revered custodian of tradition, and elder of immense wisdom and experience, whose years of service have contributed to the preservation of cultural heritage and the advancement of the traditional institution.

The Alaafin noted that attaining the age of 82 is a significant milestone worthy of gratitude to Almighty God and celebration by the Olubadan’s family, subjects, the people of Ibadanland, and the wider Yoruba nation.

His Imperial Majesty further emphasised the important role of traditional rulers in preserving cultural values, sustaining traditional institutions, and providing responsible leadership to their people.

He prayed Almighty God to continue to preserve the Olubadan, granting him sound health, renewed strength, wisdom, peace, and divine grace to continue discharging the sacred responsibilities entrusted to him by tradition.

The Alaafin also prayed that the Olubadan’s 82nd year would bring greater fulfilment, honour, peace, and enduring accomplishments, while his reign continues to uphold the dignity of the traditional institution and contribute to the development and wellbeing of the people of Ibadanland.

The Alaafin joins the sons and daughters of Ibadanland, the traditional institution, and the entire Yoruba nation in celebrating the distinguished Royal Father on this auspicious occasion.
